While I love a good season themed wreath, sometimes you just want to jazz up the front door in any season! For this I like turning to favorite colors textures and materials, as well as a multi use sign.
For this project I did for a friend I chose a chalkboard sign so it could be changed for special occasions like “Happy Birthday!”, “Go Broncos”, “Welcome to Our Home” or just have the family’s last name.
Supplies:
- 16″ metal wreath frame
- (2) 10 yard burlap garland
- Wire edged ribbon of choice
- Burlap and lace ribbon
- Chalkboard hanging sign
- Chalk paint pen
- Hot glue
Steps:
- Using the burlap garland tie the end to a point on the wire frame, gluing it in place.
- Begin tucking and pulling loops of burlap through the wire frame until desired loop size and density is met (keep in mind you will be coming back through with the other 2 kinds of ribbon to fill in gaps)
- Repeat this tucking process all the way around the wreath frame with the other ribbons.
- Once desired shape is reached flip wreath over and spot glue to add additional stability and ensure wreath will not unravel.
- Using preferred ribbon (I chose the coral) create a large bow and glue to top of the wreath.
- Using the chalk paint pen write desired message on the chalkboard sign. (Be sure not to press down too hard while writing it will spew all over, not pretty)
- Loop the hanging sign around the top on the wire wreath frame and secure it with glue.
Bam! Gorgeous wreath ready to welcome guests into your home!
